When Simon Sinek said that, he probably didn’t picture a couple in their 60s on 10 acres in the Arkansas Ozarks starting over after losing their jobs to COVID.

But that’s exactly where our story begins.

Our Journey to Prominence Homestead

We’ve been married for 35 years, united by our love for gardening, self-sufficiency, faith, and opening our home to others.

For decades, we’ve been stewarding this Ozark land, dreaming of one day sharing it.

Then life changed.

Just as we reached our debt-free “golden years,” COVID shifted everything.

Dean lost his job of 20 years due to mandates.

I had stepped away from my own career just two months before.

Our savings vanished and just like that, a surprise $4,200 car repair forced us to borrow just to keep going.

At a time when most people are winding down, we were starting over.

Finding Our “Why” Again

Instead of giving up, we asked:
What do we have?

We had our land, our home, our values but especially a deep love for hospitality.

So we took a chance.

In 2022, we opened the upstairs master suite as the Rooftop Garden Luxury Suite.

What began as a retirement dream became our path to resilience, peace, and a sense of purpose.
